No. 213 Squadron City of Rochester "Irritatus lacessit crabro" ("The hornet attacks when roused")

"No.213 began operations over Syria early in July, moving soon afterwards to Cyprus. In December 1941 it returned to Egypt for air defence duties
and in June 1942, began offensive sweeps over the Western Desert in support of the 8th Army. After the rout of the Africa Korps at El Alamein, the
squadron moved its bases to Libya to cover coastal convoys and airfields, returning to Cyprus in November for months before converting to Spitfires
in Egypt in February 1944."
